Day 16 The Traveling Tinkers
After leaving the peaceful sanctuary, we drove to Tombstone, AZ, walked around where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday walked, saw the stagecoach with the horses giving tourists a ride. The weather was beautiful, we stopped in the little shops, saw the saloon girls, a few cowboys but there was no was no shootout that day. It was a good break from driving, but not alot to see.
We then travelled on to Saguoro National Park, east of Tucson. It was a magnificent park with a 9 mile loop trail. There are pulloffs, and nice clean picnic areas with restrooms.
Finally, after seeing amazing landscape, farms, flowers blooming, we arrived in Phoenix. 216 miles. The temperatures were rising. After our hello's to Lam and Debbie, we went to eat at at a local Mexican Restaurant called Valle Luna. Excellent food! We were tired, early to bed. Did I mention that their guest room had a king size bed??? Nice to get a break from our camper bed (subaru back end). We are enjoying this!
Loving all these updates! The desert photos are wonderful!
