Day 7 The Traveling Tinkers

We rose early and said our goodbyes to our awesome hosts, and headed off towards Bristol, Tennessee.  We double checked everything, discarded things that were weighing us down and off we went.

The drive to Bristol was filled with magnificent countryside, with many cattle farms and a few horse farms.  Amazing homes were on 395.  We arrived at Bristol caverns some 290 miles later at 4:30pm. We were told to park in the gravel area off to the side. They are a Harvest Host. We got ready to rest for the night, blew up our mattresses, got our the sleeping bags, and crawled in, which is a feat only perfected by olympic gymnasts, we laughed and laughed. Finally we drifted off to sleep.  Not the most comfortable night, as we had two twin mattresses and Dave kept falling into the middle.  In addition, we were on an area where locals felt it was a dragstrip. We did our best, and we were out of there before the sun rose.  It was 40 degrees when we left, time for the sweatshirts and sweatpants and woolen hats. Thank God the heat worked.  As the day went on, we headed to Nashville.
