Day 36 , 37, 38 The Traveling Tinkers
After traveling through Moab on the way to Capital Reef, we went West on Rt. 70, and we all know what happened with our vehicle. I hate wasting space on this blog talking about it at this point. Let's just say we hit Salina, American Forks (Subaru Dealer), Salt Lake City and Perry, none of which were part of the travel plan. West Gardiner was our next fun stop. It was not as built up as West Yellowstone, but it still had a charming western town atmosphere. Our accomodations were the Super 8 on the north side of the Colorado River, which had rafting. That was our home base for our adventures into Yellowstone for two days. Our first sighting was a wolf tearing apart a bison carcas. It was off in the distance, thank God, but quite a site to see. We visited Old Faithful, Monmouth Springs, Boiling mud pots. We went to the Lamar Valley and saw herds of Buffalo with young calfs, pronghorns, an eagle soaring, bears, and four buffalo crossing a river all in a line. We visited upper and lower falls of the yellowstone river and yellowstone grand canyon. Still high on our list of favorite locations to visit.
