Day 22 The Traveling Tinkers

Image
We woke today to lower temperatures 79 LOL, and Deb, Lam and Dave all had their coats on, and Dave had a hat too!  Steff still swam in the pool and I was comfortable.  It was odd not to see the sun today after all the sunny days prior, but it is a welcome cooldown.  Lam gave Sean a bit of a cooking lesson today. Curried chicken, sweet potato, carrots, and Jasmine rice. It was so tasty.   We head off on the road again in the morning, so we did a bit of food preparation. We made chili in the hot pot for tomorrow  evenings supper when we settle in at the campground at Joshua Tree National Park.  We will miss the great food, pool, and incredible hospitality of my neice, her husband and her family.  I think Jasmine would like us to leave the carriage here for her!  They are adorable.

Today is the day that our other co-pilots Sean, Steffie and Cora) are to join us. They were picked up and driven to the airport at 6am. Thank you Christine for taking them and making sure all was in order.  They were excited and anxious, the dog was medicated to relax her, they had all their boarding passes and Cora's paperwork. Ready to go!!  Jet Blue was always our go to Airline for many reasons. This time was full of disappointment.  There were multiple delays.  Then once on the plane, and beginning to move on the tarmack, they captain advised that they were returning to the gate as there was a complaint and in order to keep his license he had to be drug tested. So, the plane returned to the gate. The pilot and co pilot had to get off for testing.  A few hours later, they were back, and the flight was taking off.  So after the multiple hour delay they were told, we are sorry but the wifi and the tv's are not working.  Later that afternoon the ...

Rest, Refresh, Renew!  Spent the day chillin by the pool, playing a bit of dominos, and having fun watching the little dogs play in and out of the pool.   It was another beautiful sunny day. We are eating fresh picked from the tree oranges and lemons. Dave had his first lesson in making and eating paper rice.  Salmon, Pork, and Tofu along with all the veggies.

Day 19 The Traveling Tinkers

Have I mentioned how gorgeous the weather is in Arizona now?  Every day is sunny with blue skies. We are loving it.  Our adventures today took us to Cave Creek, Arizona.  The town established as a gold mining town and a stopping point for the U.S. Cavalry in the mid 1870's, has preserved its wild west character. Most of the buildings are reminiscent of what things in the wild west looked like. It is located high above Phoenix, at the foothills of the Black Mountain.  As with any area, it has been built up with restaurants, gift shops, hotels, specialty decor stores and a few championship golf courses.   After a stroll through the area, we visited "The 8th Wonder of the World" called the Rare Earth Gallery. I have never seen so many rare and unique gemstones.   Lunch was had a Harolds country restaurant.  Friday is all you can eat fish and chips, before we realized we didn't take a picture of the food, it was all eaten. Live music, inter...
